EXETER
UNIVERSITY 1-5 NEWQUAY LADIES AFC RESERVES 11 Feb 07 Newquay Ladies reserves went 10 points clear at the top of the south west league with this superb win against an
always strong Exeter team. This really was a game of 2 halves, the first half Newquay had chance after chance but just couldn't
find the net, and it was Exeter who took the lead on 25 minutes after a mistake in defence gave Exeter a clear chance to score
the opener. The second half started and Newquay soon equalised through Debbie Duncan after she made a great run and coolly
lobbed the ball over the advancing Exeter keeper, 5 minutes later Newquay was in front when a great through ball by Janine
Butterly found Lucy Olde who sent a rocket of a shot in the top corner of the net. Exeter always looking strong on the attack
was caught out again on 65 minutes when a great cross by Kim Eke found Danni Salt who finished with precision. Again Danni
Salt was on the score sheet on 75 minutes when she ran through the defence to slot home, the scoring was finished off by Kim
Eke who's unstoppable shot ended up in the back of the net to make the final score 5-1 to Newquay. Credit must be given
to the Exeter keeper Carley Barber who made some excellent saves to keep the Newquay score to just five. Newquay Ladies
Reserves next match is at home to Alphington on March 25th 2pm kick off.

NEWQUAY STAY SEVEN POINTS CLEAR AT THE TOP; PLYMOUTH ARGYLE RESERVES 3-3 NEWQUAY LADIES
RESERVES
In this top of the table local derby clash between two excellent football teams there was never going to much given away.
It was always going to be a tough test for this young Newquay team, coming up against the Argyle first team players the reserves
used, however Newquay's determination proved strong and they matched them
throughout the game. Newquay started the scoring when a Kim Eke
shot from outside the area looped over the keepers head,
the score remained 1-0 until 4 minutes from the break when a goal from Argyle levelled things for the break. Argyle started the second half the strongest and took the lead when Newquay's keeper and their striker clashed,
which ended up with an Argyle penalty that was put away well.
The lead however was short lived when a great pass from Newquay's
Tamsin Keat found Kim Eke on the left to rocket a shot from outside
the box to bring the scoreline level again. Five minutes later
Newquay went ahead when, from inside the box Emma Pritchard fired home from close range. From here on in the match was end to end with both keepers having to be on their toes, and with 4 minutes remaining after a double
save from Newquay's keeper Nikki Lewis, the ball fell to an Argyle
striker to finish the scoreline at 3-3

her debut for Newquay, rocketing the ball home.
The second half started just the same and on 65 minutes increased their lead when Danni Salt again struck home from
just inside the box. Newquay then paid the price for a lack of concentration
to allow Poole to get a goal back on 82 minutes but this was short lived when Jodie Smith finished the scoring for Newquay on 87
minutes to make the final score 4-1
